Hauroko Valley School Houses

The House system at Hauroko Valley Primary School is a vibrant and important part of our school’s growing culture. It gives students a sense of identity, provides an opportunity for friendly competition, and instills pride amongst our students. House challenges add colour, excitement, and unity to Hauroko Valley Primary School events.

Hauroko Valley Primary School Houses have been selected based on the merger of Clifden and Orawia Schools and our school mihi. This includes places that are unique to our location including our maunga - Takitimu Mountains, our awa - Waiau River, our piriti (bridge) Clifden Historical Suspension Bridge and ana (caves) - Clifden Limestone Caves and our War Memorial at Orawia.
