Our school aims to provide our children with a well balanced curriculum and opportunities for understanding the world around them. Our core learning areas are Literacy and Mathematics/Statistics. We then incorporate an integrated approach to ensure full coverage of the NZ Curriculum. With the Takitimu Mountains in sight, this unique place provides us with plenty of education outside the classroom. Our staff and community work together for the benefit of the children and to ensure an optimal learning environment.

CommunityThe Hauroko Valley Primary School parents and community work together to provide our children with rich learning experiences around Southland and Otago. Resources are utilised and expertise is shared and offered to the school.

Full of activitiesHauroko Valley Primary School provides our children with a range of extra-curricular activities. We have plenty of resources, a rugby field, tennis court, netball court, a mini golf course and a heated swimming pool. We have on-site swimming lessons and join up with other area schools for athletics. Our cross-counrty and duathlons take in some of our countries best scenery.
